Together with Fritz Rahmann and Hermann Pitz, Raimund Kummer is one of the founders of the "Büro Berlin".
On the one hand they have sought a way out of what in their eyes has become an obsolete artist's individuality. And on the other they wanted to create a group counter-balance to Mucha, Schütte, Gerdes, Klingelhöller and Luy, the so-called "model-builders" of the Düsseldorf scene.
For Kummer, the productive influence of the material on the form-finding process was at the centre of his artistic interest from the beginning. For more than ten years now this has inspired him to use glass for his sculptures.
The concept of nature-art-work in particular, which is fundamentally present in Arp's art, is currently ennobled by Kummer's sculpture "Which Home". It is also demonstrated in the video "Waschen", which also belongs to the collection of the Arp Museum.

Raimund Kummer was born in 1954 in Meringhausen / Waldeck, he lives and works in Berlin and Ripatransone.
