On the occasion of the exhibition »Berlinde De Bruyckere. PEL / Becoming the figure« Romeu Runa performs »Sibylle«

Inspired by works and in collaboration with visual artist Berlinde De Bruyckere, Portuguese dancer Romeu Runa presents performances on three dates. »Sibylle« is based on the ancient myth of Ovid's Metamorphoses. At the heart of it is Sibyl of Cumae, who ages tragically due to a wish she made in an unfortunate way. As she lives through several hundred years, her physical deterioration progresses visibly until she is left only as a voice.
Through the dance translation of these physical transformation processes, the underlying sensations come to life and merge with Berlinde De Bruyckere's art in an impressive and sensitive way. In the performances, art and dance come together to express deeply felt human experiences.

Admission to the performance is free, but registration is required: anmeldung@arpmuseum.org or +49 2228 9425-36. Due to the performance, the new building will be closed to visitors from 4 pm.
