fgang Amadeus Mozart: String quintet in G minor\, KV 516\nOlivier Messiaen
: Quatuor pour la fin du temps\n\nGreat composers reflect on the end of li
fe and the end of time. In November\, the month of commemoration of the de
ad\, Berlin violinist Sophia Jaffé creates a weighty program with Villa M
usica fellows. In his G minor quintet\, Mozart already anticipated the dea
th of his father\; in the "Quartet on the End of Time\," Messiaen gave tho
usands of prisoners of war hope for redemption at the end of all days. The
Frankfurt violin professor has a close connection to the young generation
\, since she herself has won awards at major competitions in Geneva and Br
 ussels.
