SUMMARY:New Year's reception with Reading by Marion Poschmann and Jan Wagne
r and book signing by Christiane Löhr
DESCRIPTION:New Year's reception with a reading by Marion Poschmann and Jan
Wagner on the exhibition "Christiane Löhr. Symmetries of the Smooth" and
book signing by the artist at the finissage\n\nin cooperation with the Ak
ademie der Wissenschaften und der Literatur\, Mainz\n\n"While the way each
bird species soars and circles is fixed and unchanging like its predeterm
ined flight paths\, plants do not move anywhere\, their vibrations remain
constant swaying and folding."\n\nPerhaps Sekiguchi Ryōko once saw Christ
iane Löhr's works when she wrote her poem 'Heliotropes'. For the first ti
me\, the critically acclaimed anthology 'Eine raffinierte Grenze aus Licht
' has published outstanding\, stylistically concise\, lively world designs
by a younger generation of Japanese poets in German translation. Butterfl
y wings\, pineapple boats\, philosophical drops of water: renowned German-
language poets have taken up the challenge of exploring this peculiarity a
cross language barriers and are approaching one of the most exciting liter
ary landscapes of modernity.\n\nMarion Poschmann\, who edited the antholog
y together with Yoko Tawada\, will read poems from it with Jan Wagner\, on
e of the participating poets\, at the exhibition.Marion Poschmann has rece
ived numerous awards for her poetry collections and novels\, most recently
the Joseph Breitbach Prize. Her new novel 'Chor der Erinnyen' was publish
ed in 2023\, and Jan Wagner\, writer and translator\, most recently publis
hed the poetry collection 'Steine & Erden'. His work has been awarded the
Leipzig Book Fair Prize and the Georg Büchner Prize\, among others.\n\nWe
cordially invite you to enjoy a glass of sparkling wine after the reading
 !\n\nTickets: 12 Euro\, incl. museum entrance fee\n\nTickets are available
