SUMMARY:Painting with natural pigments - colours in the water in the Flow w
 ith Charlotte von Ohnesorge
DESCRIPTION:Attention: Please ask Ms. von Ohnesorge whether participation i
n English is possible.\n\nWe work directly with pure natural pigments. Art
ists have been painting with red chalk\, green earth or ochre since ancien
t times\, and in the depictions of waves\, cascades or a calm lake in the
exhibition In Flux. A story about water\, we discover a wide variety of co
lours and light in the water.\nA few sketches are made in the exhibition a
nd form the basis and inspiration for our painting with the pigments\, and
it is fascinating to see how the earth colours - applied directly to the
paper - can be rubbed into smooth or grainy strokes\, spread like a powder
y touch or condensed into strong\, opaque surfaces. Earth pigments are use
 d\, in pieces\, grated\, solid and loose pastel chalks\, binders - finely
dosed - and water.\nA variety of techniques are possible. We let the pigme
nts take effect. And in doing so\, we learn how sometimes random effects a
re created - and how we can incorporate and utilise this process in our de
piction. The workshop is suitable for beginners and advanced students.\n\n
Costs: 50 euros per person\, incl. material\, plus museum entrance fee\n\n
