DESCRIPTION:Fancy your own book? In contrast to the mass-produced book, this course focuses on the artistic exploration of unique or smaller edition objects with individual design. After a brief introduction to the different types of binding, participants will start with their own practical exercises. The path leads from the single-leaf book to fanfold, wire stitching, Japanese binding, thread stitching and various cover designs. The materials (different types of paper, cardboard, book cloth, gauze, thread, bookbinding glue, and tools such as cutters, folding bone, needles, cutting pads and brushes) are provided. You are also welcome to bring your own drawings and special papers that you would like to use in your book. No previous knowledge is necessary for the workshop.
