 Like the abstract forms of Hans Arp and Sophie Taeuber-Arp, Chinese characters are often developed from the depiction of real objects and symbols. In this course, Chinese artist Hong Tang-Knoben, who teaches Chinese writing and calligraphy at the University of Bonn, will introduce you to more advanced areas of Chinese calligraphy. After refreshing the basics, you will get to know and practise different types of writing. At the end of the course you will have the opportunity - inspired by the art of Mr and Mrs Arp - to create your own calligraphic works of art in your own personal style.
