Special Event – no registration necessary

05 Jul 2024

The large Dada Summer Exhibition 2024 at the Arp Museum shows the still widely underestimated participation of female voices in the most subversive of all 20th century art movements and the tremendous explosive power that developed out of this historical upheaval. At the same time, it shows men who, despite all their contradictions, staged gender in a new and partly transitory way and detached themselves from old attributions. Dada thus became the first art movement in which women as well as men actively and actionistically worked on the permeability of role models. Nevertheless, the women of Dada were and have remained almost invisible in the long shadows of the self-declared founding fathers in Zurich, Berlin, Paris and New York.
