Bleaching-Workshop: Galaxy Shirts with Hanka Faerber

In this workshop, we’ll transform dark fabrics into unique works of art that look like fascinating space photographs or sparkling starry skies. Using bleach and various design techniques, we’ll create stunning galaxy and nebula patterns on T-shirts and other fabrics. The workshop is aimed at all adults who fancy experimenting with textiles and creating designs by removing colour. Step by step, we’ll try out different bleaching methods that can be used to create stars, nebulae, explosion effects and cosmic colour gradients. Join us in creating a wearable starry sky.

 

Please bring the following: old dark cotton T-shirts for practising; dark cotton T-shirts or other dark textiles (e.g. hoodies or cloth bags) that you’d like to design – feel free to bring a variety, as they react differently; and household gloves.
