Open House – Free admission and program!

Museum festival featuring the opening of the “Sprechende Bilder” exhibition, the Rhineland Reading Festival “Käpt’n Book,” and other program highlights.

 

11:00 a.m.      Opening of the “Sprechende Bilder” exhibition in the Meierbau with

Dr. Julia Wallner (Director of the Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck),

Dr. Denis Alt (State Secretary for Culture of Rhineland-Palatinate and Chairman of the Board of the Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck),

Tania Brugnoni (Director of the Luxembourg National Museum, MNAHA),

Peter-Matthias Gaede (German Committee for UNICEF, Chair of the UNICEF Photo of the Year Jury),

Dr. Susanne Blöcker (Curator, Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck)

 

11 a.m.–5 p.m. Movement games with play equipment provided by Sportbund Rheinland e.V. on the forecourt

12 p.m.–5 p.m. XXL Painting on the forecourt. We’ll let the images speak for themselves and paint together on a large canvas in front of the Arp Museum.

12:00 PM–5:00 PM Comic workshop in the Arp Lab. Children and families will create their own art comics inspired by works in the exhibition by cutting out motifs, coloring them, and adding their own speech bubbles.

 

45-minute guided tours

1:00 p.m. – 2 tours: “Speaking Pictures” (Rau Art Chamber) or “Arp’s Cosmos” (upper level of the Meierbau)

2:00 p.m. – 3 tours: “Arp’s Cosmos” (upper level of the Meierbau), “Art in Place,” or “To the Stars!” (Ground Floor, Meierbau)

3:00 p.m. – 2 tours: “Speaking Pictures” (Rau Art Chamber) or “Architecture of the Train Station”

4:00 p.m. – 2 tours: “Architecture” or “To the Stars!” (Ground Floor, Meierbau)

Captain Book Reading Festival

12:30 p.m. Train Station: Sylvia Graupner, “Through the Night in a Paper Boat” (ages 5 and up)

1:45 p.m. Train Station: Jutta Nymphius, “Pelle’s Dad” (ages 8 and up)

3:00 p.m. Meierbau: Oliver Steller reads and sings poems (ages 5 and up)

4:00 p.m. Train Station: Katja Frixe, “The Valley of Wishes” (ages 6 and up) Refreshments will be provided by Erdapfel Bonn and Interieur No. 253.

 

Catering: Erdapfel Bonn and Interieur No. 253 on the forecourt.
