‘ ...I fly in the big room.
I mingle in every dream
and read in the thousand expressions...’
Excerpt from ‘Ätherstrophen’ - Emmy Hennings, one of the founders of Dadaism
Dada.ist.innen ‘der die DADA Performance & Kostüm’
Together in the Arp Labor we create costumes (elements) that take up DADA, that means individual, unusual, against it, free, usually crazy. The current exhibition, subtitled ‘Disorder of the Sexes’ with works by Sophie Taeuber - Arp and many other female artists who had a decisive influence on Dadaism, offers us wonderful inspiration. The performative moments in the workshop are created with the support of the performer, action artist and painter Karla M. Götze: ‘I work in a participant-orientated and process-based way. Encouraging diversity in order to find one's own artistic expression and thus become visible. Performance is possible with every body, so EVERYONE is welcome - with or without previous knowledge and those who are differently abled.‘
Please bring along: An object that could contribute to the costume. Drinks and food (for the short lunch break) and your own dishes.
Costs: 60 euros, plus 10 euros for materials and museum admission
Registration required by 11 July 2024: Karla M. Götze or +49 228 42 201 113
