Workshop from the series ‘Printing with Press’/TetraPak - Etching

Participants print using the pasta machine and the etching press. This technique is ideal for transforming used composite packaging into printing blocks for letterpress and intaglio printing. The material is inexpensive, available to everyone, easy to work with, can be rolled with different colours and reproduced using letterpress or intaglio printing. This workshop focuses on intaglio printing, etching, and participants also learn a little about letterpress printing. TetraPak etching is well suited to delicate, filigree and understated works. The print image is not razor sharp; rather soft and slightly blurred, because areas as well as lines play a role – different and beautiful. Participants will find inspiration in the works of the Cosmos Arp collection presentation.

Please bring a ballpoint pen, a fine permanent felt-tip pen and tweezers. If you have a favourite craft knife (not a coarse one), please bring that too. If you bring templates for tracing, they should be printed upside down. For a short break, you will need your own crockery and your own food and drinks. You can make your own coffee and tea on site. The workshop is suitable for beginners and advanced learners.

Participants: minimum 5 people, maximum 10 people

Cost: 60 € plus museum entrance fee, incl. material (Tetrapacks, paints, handmade paper)
