Printing with soft ground – Vernis mou based on the exhibition Landscapes of the Soul

The print image produced by this intaglio printing technique has a graphic character. But unlike drypoint etching on metal plates, this technique requires no force and allows you to playfully work on the surface with any object. Vernis mou is particularly suitable for beginners, as everything can be wiped away and started again before printing. Etching is done with iron III sulphate and appropriate protective clothing and instruction. By registering for this course, Ms Franka Peikert assumes your consent to the etching process, as this technique is not possible without etching. You are welcome to bring your own materials, e.g. copper/zinc plates max. 30 x 30 or 30 x 20 cm, handmade paper and etching tools. Please bring your own crockery and your own food and drinks for a short break. You can make your own coffee and tea on site. This workshop is suitable for beginners and advanced learners. No drawing skills are required.

Participants: minimum 5 people, maximum 10 people

Cost: 60 € plus museum entrance fee, incl. basic material (Zinc plates 20 x 20, colours, handmade paper)

Registration required: Franka Peikert
