Marc Bouchkov, violin
Scholarship recipients of Villa Musica Rhineland-Palatinate
Brahms was never more romantic than in his Third Piano Quartet: No one could render the turbulent sounds of this musical adaptation of *Werther* more captivatingly than Marc Bouchkov, the Essen-based professor of violin and celebrated violin virtuoso. His Russian roots find a passionate echo in Rachmaninoff and Arensky. The elegiac tones that the Moscow music student and his composition professor composed upon Tchaikovsky’s death still shake us to the core today.
