Piano Duo Katia and Marielle Labèque
For decades, sisters Katia and Marielle Labèque have embodied the perfect symbiosis of a piano duo and the French sensibility for sound in its purest form. In Rolandseck, they tell stories of bright gardens on one grand piano and of the wild, howling wind on two grand pianos. They will perform excerpts from Bernstein’s “West Side Story” and the Mendelssohn siblings’ “Songs Without Words,” masterpieces by the Parisian Impressionists, and poetic gems by nearly forgotten female composers.
