A hundred years ago, the world experienced a period we now know as the ‘Roaring Twenties’. Even back then, not everything was golden by any means – yet, following difficult years of challenges, people were searching for hope, a zest for life and a fresh start. Jazz, dance, the courage to embrace the new and a breath of freedom characterised this era.
We sit together in the secret gardens rolandswerth beneath old trees and in the greenhouse, listening to songs and melodies that, through Bertolt Brecht, Helene Weigel and Kurt Weill, have become part of our cultural memory and still resonate within us today. At the same time, we ask ourselves how we can deal with our own challenges and crises today – on a personal level, in the village, in the region and perhaps even beyond.
An event organised by the Offene Gärten der Ahr.
Admission is free; donations are welcome.
