Where do we find inspiration for a sculpture, for an object? What lies dormant in us? In nature, looking into the forest, at the clouds… And in the sensuousness of the remnants of our daily life. In the marginalia, that, what is left behind, unnoticed. The things and objects to which we usually pay only little attention: remnants, pieces, segments, blots, chunks, bundles and all sorts of fabric. In communication with each other we will look for an adequate form (for our own ideas). With wire, wood, paper, clay, findings (…, oddments, segments and all sorts of materials), plaster and plaster bandages, we will let this idea come to life. Whether put in a cast, encased, drained or imprinted, a thought will become a sculpture, intangibles will be tangible, emotions will turn into artistic, abstract creations. We will experiment with plaster/gypsum, feel how liquid turns into something firm, soft into hard, something that connects, bonds, fills, hardens. The workshop is suitable for beginners and advanced persons.
