Landscape painting | Plein Air with Ulla Hieronymi-Pinnock

11:00 – 16:00  |  Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck
Workshop – Registration is necessary

18 Jun 2023

Attention: Please ask Mrs  Hieronymi-Pinnock whether participation in English is possible.

Landscape paintings were created in the studio until the 19th century, apart from sketches and preliminary drawings made outdoors. In the course of the 17th century, Dutch paintings established themselves as affordable everyday art for the upper middle classes. Regional atmospheric landscapes and city views were created, as well as so-called seascapes depicting historical events or, for example, landscape paintings with interpretations of the painter's mood.
In this painting workshop, we will be inspired by the works in the exhibition »Golden Times of Dutch Painting« and explore the theme of landscape. Contrary to the tradition of the time, we will go to the terrace of the Rolandseck train station with the easel for the practical implementation, from which we have the landscape of the romantic Rhine valley directly in front of our eyes. Prior knowledge is not required.

Costs: 65 euros per person | plus 5 euros material and museum entrance fee
