Summer holiday workshop "Building insect hotels after Sophie Taeuber-Arp" for children from 8 years - with Chiara Elsner and Nicole Schmidt

11:00 – 16:00  |  Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck
Workshop – 3 days - Registration necessary - free of charge

25 Jul 2023

Sophie Taeuber-Arp's art is very diverse. She created, among other things, tapestries, puppets, works on paper, designed interiors and much more. Geometric shapes play a very important role in all her works. She also called her drawings for interior design, which contain many geometric shapes, "Räumebilder". In addition, Sophie and her husband Hans Arp were very close to nature. In the upcoming summer workshop we will take Sophie's "Räumebilder" as a model and build "rooms" for insects together. During this 3-day workshop, children will learn about the museum and the art of Sophie and Hans in the new exhibition "Kosmos Arp. Sophie Taeuber-Arp and Hans Arp - a pair of avant-garde artists" and learn why it is important to protect insects and create safe places for them.

Since part of the workshop will take place outside, please remember to bring weatherproof clothing or sunscreen. Please provide your child with food for the day. Drinks (mineral water) and small snacks will be provided on site.
