Pure summer vibes: Gershwin's "Summertime" in beautiful weather on the lawn behind the Richard Meier Bau. The Sunday afternoon open air is a new format in the Villa Musica Summer 2021: an open-air concert, heralded by an intrada towards the Rhine. Festive brass players from the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen will kick things off. Chris Houlding conducts his own arrangements of Gershwin's most beautiful summer hits, Piazzolla and baroque pieces by Bach, Händel & Co.

The concert will take place without seating, please bring a picnic blanket for yourself. Food and drinks can also be brought along.
