»I searched for new constellations of forms, such as nature constantly forms in infinite abundance.« Hans Arp

Constellation is a central theme in Hans Arp's work. He was interested in how things can be arranged among themselves, how they can enter into the most diverse relationships with each other and how a concept of infinity can emerge - in the microcosm as well as in the macrocosm, in the large as well as in the small. One or two pencil drawings will be made (DIN A2). The Renaissance technique of the square grid can be used for this, a technique that is also used in fresco painting (training of the course instructor). This technique involves the following:We look at the portraits through a frame provided with a grid. Our attention is directed square by square to the different sculptures or their partial areas - whose distribution and position in relation to each other can be clarified in this way.The chosen motif is reduced to outlines, with the aim of showing heights and depths, shadows and light in one line. The workshop is suitable for beginners and advanced students.
