Willkommen im Kosmos Arp

Am 1. Oktober 2023 feiern wir den europaweiten Aktionstag der Stiftungen, der das Engagement von Stiftungen in den Mittelpunkt stellt. Auch unsere Museumsarbeit basiert auf dem Gedanken einer Stiftung.

Die Hauptaufgabe unserer Landesstiftung besteht darin, das Werk von Hans Arp und Sophie Taeuber-Arp sowie ihres künstlerischen Umfeldes einem breiten Publikum zugänglich zu machen. Wie kaum ein anderes Paar beeinflussten sie die Kunst ihrer Zeit und als weltweit einziges Museum widmet sich das Arp Museum der Bewahrung und Verbreitung ihres kulturellen Erbes. Mit der SAMMLUNG ARP sind mehr als 400 Werke in der außergewöhnlichen Architektur aus historischem Bahnhofsgebäude und dem Neubau Richard Meiers zu Hause und stehen im Mittelpunkt der Sammlungspräsentation KOSMOS ARP.

Ein weiteres Anliegen der Stiftung 2008 gegründeten Stiftung ist es, internationale Kunst einem breiteren Publikum zugänglich zu machen und den kulturellen Austausch zu fördern. Die Kombination all dieser Elemente macht das Museum am Rhein zu einem besonderen Ort für Kunst, Kultur und Begegnungen.

European Action Day of Foundations | Welcome to the Cosmos Arp

On 1 October 2023, we will celebrate the Europe-wide Action Day of Foundations, which focuses on the commitment of foundations. Our museum work is also based on the idea of a foundation.

The main task of our Landesstiftung foundation is to make the work of Hans Arp and Sophie Taeuber-Arp and their artistic environment accessible to a broad public. They influenced the art of their time like no other couple, and the Arp Museum is the only museum in the world dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of their cultural heritage. With the ARP COLLECTION, more than 400 works are at home in the extraordinary architecture of the historic railway station building and Richard Meier's new building and are the focus of the KOSMOS ARP collection presentation.

Another concern of the foundation, which was established in 2008, is to make international art accessible to a wider public and to promote cultural exchange. The combination of all these elements makes the Museum am Rhein a special place for art, culture and encounters.
